Frequently asked questions

What types of photocells do you offer?

We offer twist-lock, wire-in, Zhaga photocells, and more.

Do your products support LED lights?

LED compatibility depends on the selected photocontrol and LED driver. Confirm the supply voltage, load rating, driver inrush current and switching requirements against the model datasheet before selection.

What is a Zhaga photocell?

A Zhaga-interface photocontrol or sensor mounts through a compatible socket on the luminaire. For a Book 18 assembly, confirm the specific controller, socket, power supply and driver interface. Dimming, sensing, wireless functions and certification depend on the selected model and complete system.

What is the function of a photocell receptacle?

It allows photocells to be twist-locked into lighting fixtures for easy control and maintenance.

Do you offer shorting caps and covers?

Yes, we provide shorting caps, polycarbonate covers, and aluminum bases.

Do you offer intelligent photocells?

Yes. Explore our controles de iluminação inteligentes e Zhaga components. Communication protocols, dimming interfaces and gateway requirements vary by model. Confirm the exact controller, compatible gateway, network configuration and driver before ordering.

Supply requirements vary by model and voltage suffix. Confirm the rated AC or DC input, frequency where applicable and permitted operating range in the exact model datasheet. A family offering several voltage versions does not mean that every unit accepts every voltage.

Surge protection depends on the selected model and configuration. Confirm the specified surge test waveform, voltage or current level, energy rating where applicable and test documentation. Compare like-for-like test conditions; current and energy ratings are not interchangeable.

Dimming is available on selected controllers. Confirm the exact dimming interface, output behaviour, compatible LED driver and any scheduling or gateway requirements in the model documentation. An on/off photocontrol should not be assumed to provide dimming.

Outdoor suitability depends on the selected model and complete installation. Confirm operating temperature, ingress protection, humidity, UV exposure and any salt or corrosion requirements against the model documentation. Use the specified socket, seals and installation instructions; do not infer suitability for every outdoor environment.

UL certification must be verified for the exact model and configuration. Request the applicable UL listing or recognition record and confirm the model, manufacturer and standard scope before specifying compliance. A reference to a UL or ANSI standard alone does not establish certification.

For a European project, request the EU Declaration of Conformity and supporting documentation applicable to the exact model. Confirm the covered product, applicable legislation and standards, manufacturer and document date. Do not assume that documentation for one product applies to every photocontrol or receptacle.

Request the RoHS declaration and supporting material or test documentation for the selected model and configuration. Confirm the covered parts, document date and any applicable exemptions before specifying compliance. A general environmental statement does not replace product-specific documentation.

Request the current ISO 9001 quality management certificate for the relevant manufacturing entity and site. Check its scope, issuing body and validity dates. A quality management certificate does not by itself certify the performance or regulatory compliance of an individual product.

For a NEMA receptacle or twist-lock assembly, confirm the applicable ANSI C136.10 or C136.41 interface requirements in the specific model documentation. Zhaga interfaces must be checked separately against the applicable Zhaga specification. Do not assume that NEMA and Zhaga sockets use the same interface standard.

CB documentation availability must be confirmed for the exact model. Request the applicable CB Test Certificate and associated test report, and verify the model list, issuing body, certificate number and standard. A standard number alone is not a certificate number.

Material flammability ratings vary by component and material grade. Request the material specification or test record for the selected housing or cover, including the rating and tested thickness. Do not assume that a material rating establishes the rating of the complete controller or luminaire.

Ingress protection varies by model and assembly. Confirm the stated IP rating and test documentation for the exact controller or component, including the specified socket, gasket, sealing and mounting conditions. A component rating does not automatically establish the rating of the complete luminaire.

Confirm the inspection plan for the selected product and order, including test items, acceptance criteria, sampling or full-inspection scope and records supplied. Request the relevant inspection documentation; do not assume identical testing for every component or custom configuration.

Ask which third-party reports are available for the exact model and target market. Verify the issuing laboratory, tested model, report number, test scope and date. Report availability for another model does not establish compliance for your selected product.

Yes, we offer OEM for logos, packaging, and model numbers.

Yes, we can customize voltage, delay time, sensor types, and colors.

Minimum order quantity depends on the model, customization scope, materials and production requirements. Request the applicable MOQ in the written quotation for your exact specification; do not assume one quantity applies to all OEM or ODM orders.

Yes, we can silk-print or laser your logo on the housing.

Yes, both neutral and branded packaging options are available.

Yes, custom lead wire lengths and colors are supported.

Yes, we have an experienced R&D team for ODM development.

Just share specifications, drawings, or samples.

Tooling or development charges depend on the design and project scope. Confirm costs, ownership, maintenance and any credit or refund conditions in the written agreement before development. A tooling refund is not automatic for every bulk order.

Development time depends on the specification, tooling, components, sample iterations and required testing. Agree on milestones and an estimated schedule after technical review. Production timing should be confirmed separately after sample approval.

Follow the installation instructions for the exact photocontrol, receptacle and luminaire. Have a qualified installer isolate power, verify the supply and contact arrangement, align the mating interface and secure the controller as specified. Check seals and sensor orientation using the model instructions before restoring power.

Yes, wiring diagrams are available in the product datasheets.

No, avoid installing it near reflective or artificial light sources.

On and off delays vary by model and configuration. Check the specified delay times and test conditions in the model datasheet, including whether delays are fixed or configurable. Confirm required behaviour for temporary light changes before ordering.

Yes, many models support direction adjustment after installation.

Screw-in and wire-in photocells are separate product types. For a screw-in model, confirm the lamp-base format, supply voltage, lamp load and available space. For wire-in models, follow the specified wiring and mounting instructions; do not treat the two formats as interchangeable.

Switch-on and switch-off light levels depend on the model, sensor and configuration. Confirm both thresholds, tolerances and measurement conditions in the specific datasheet. If a custom setting is required, request written confirmation and a sample validation before ordering.

System integration depends on the selected controller and supported interface. Confirm protocol and version, dimming interface, gateway or network requirements, commissioning method and driver compatibility. Products sharing a mounting format are not automatically compatible with the same smart system.

Use the orientation and mounting instructions for the selected Zhaga controller, socket and luminaire. Confirm the mating position, sealing and sensor field of view; avoid obstruction or direct light feedback where relevant. Do not assume that every Zhaga controller uses a NORTH arrow or the same sensing arrangement.

Solar lighting compatibility requires a model-specific electrical and system review. Confirm the DC or AC supply, voltage range, switching or dimming interface, battery-controller arrangement and environmental requirements. Do not connect a mains photocontrol to a solar system unless the documented configuration supports it.

Lead time depends on the selected model, quantity, stock, customization and documentation requirements. Confirm the production and dispatch schedule in the current quotation or order confirmation. Shipping transit time is separate from production lead time.
