Confirm supply, load and the required switching or dimming behaviour. A regional label alone does not establish electrical or approval suitability.

Review the existing installation

Record the complete controller and receptacle model, contact arrangement, mounting and wiring documentation. Distinguish an on/off replacement from a dimming or connected-control upgrade. Retain the original wiring only where the model instructions support the proposed combination; a matching housing does not prove a compatible circuit.

Confirm supply and LED driver compatibility

Confirm rated input, frequency, operating range, driver inrush and load limits for the exact controller. Specify fail behaviour, thresholds, delays and any surge requirement with comparable test conditions. Validate a sample using the intended driver and fixture rather than assuming the family name covers every voltage suffix.

Verify model-specific documentation

Request the applicable model listing or recognition record where required by the buyer, together with datasheets, installation instructions and test documentation. Verify the manufacturer, suffix and configuration in each record. The project reviewer must confirm destination-specific requirements; a standard reference is not proof of certification for all products.

Agree retrofit acceptance criteria

Agree acceptance criteria before a field trial: switching response, light feedback, sealing, driver compatibility and control-system behaviour. Confirm ordering code, quantity, spare strategy, packaging and delivery terms in writing. Avoid changing existing site settings without the project owner’s approval.
